Privacy at Soundfly Connect

Soundfly Connect (coaching.soundfly.com) is operated by Soundfly LLC and is covered by the Soundfly Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, which applies to all Soundfly websites and services.

This page adds the details that are specific to Soundfly Connect. Where it's more specific than the main policy (in particular, about Google Calendar information), this page applies. Questions? Email support@soundfly.com.

What Soundfly Connect collects

If you're a student:

Your name and email address, and a password if you create an account.
What you tell your coach when you book: your goals, experience level, instruments or software, and an optional link to your music.
Your bookings: intro calls, proposals, packages you've bought, and your session schedule.
Your time zone, so we can show times correctly.

If you're a coach:

Your name, email address, and phone number.
Your application, and your public profile: photo, tagline, bio, tags, and music link.
Your weekly availability, time zone, and call link.
Your sessions with students and what you've earned.

What students and coaches see about each other

A coach sees the name, email address, and booking answers of students who book with them.
A student sees their coach's public profile and call link, and can reply to booking emails to reach their coach.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep a record of what was paid and when.

Google Calendar (coaches only, optional)

Coaches can choose to connect a Google Calendar so that times when they're busy aren't offered to students for intro calls. If you connect it:

What we access: only the times you're marked busy on your main calendar, plus the email address of the Google account you connected. We can't see event names, descriptions, guests, or locations, and we can't add, change, or delete anything on your calendar.
How we use it: only to hide intro call times that clash with your calendar. Students never see your calendar; they just aren't offered the times you're busy.
What we store: a secure key from Google that lets us keep checking (stored encrypted), and the connected account's email address. Your busy times are checked when needed and only kept briefly (a few minutes) to keep the site fast.
Sharing: we don't share, sell, or transfer this information to anyone, including advertising partners, and we don't use it for advertising or to develop or train AI models. Our hosting provider stores it on our behalf, as it does the rest of the site's data.
Turning it off: click Disconnect on your My Schedule page at any time. We then delete the key and ask Google to cancel it. You can also remove access from your Google Account's security settings.

Soundfly Connect's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies on Soundfly Connect

In addition to what the main policy describes, Soundfly Connect uses cookies to:

Keep you signed in.
Remember your time zone.
Remember which coach sent you, if you arrived through a coach's personal link (for up to 60 days), so we can credit them if you book.
